Breaking the poverty cycle
Capital for Life is a micro-finance organisation that currently serves around 70 small businesses and individuals in the Mukono District of Uganda. We provide micro-loans and finance & business training to loan recipients to enable thriving, healthy and financially sustainable communities.
Founded in 2008, Capital for Life seeks to raise the living standards in an area where 53% live below the poverty line and many are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Access to micro-finance loans enables our borrowers to run successful, thriving businesses in their community. This in turn provides food, shelter and clothing for their families, and education for their children. Our borrowers go on to run successful, thriving businesses.
To date we have provided over 285 individuals with loans of up to US$200 each.
Capital for Life is a recognised provider with government and development agencies. Our work has been endorsed by the Ugandan Office of the Prime Minister. We were delighted to receive one of only two grants awarded to support local communities.
To deepen our impact and support, we are embarking on a growth strategy to enable communities in the Mukono District to live prosperous, healthy, spiritually vibrant lives. Your donation will make a huge difference to a small business in Uganda.
